2 months' absence

.

It's been 2 months since I last updated. o_o Anyone missed me?

Gosh.. the past month especially had been really hectic.. There was 2 nights that I didn't even sleep, just for the sake of completing the assignments. Well, at the very least the results are worth it. After all that, now I'm

FREEEEEEEEEEEE =D

I can't guarantee any speedy updates since I last stopped, but I do hope I could complete most of my, well, holiday 'resolutions' XD

The list includes watching the anime/movies/dramas that I've downloaded and stored for so long, change to Windows 7, read the bible, practice using the house' Wira and Kelisa, rearrange the stuffs in my room.. and I don't know what else.

Hmm. Gotcha. =)

Mid-term break, again

.

Holidays has started again! for a week, at least. For some reason I'm not sure about, I don't really feel excited about it. Perhaps, I'm already used to it. No, not used to the holidays feeling, but used to the loads of assignments GIVEN to do during the holidays. It almost made no difference between attending college or not. Haha!

Although, of course, it is still a good excuse to take a break and go on an outing with my coursemates. You guys rock. ;)

Still, with the ongoing assignments, I hope I could still find the mood to go out.. Operating Systems and Systems Analysis and Design is due next week.. and I still have about 7000-9000 words to complete the Internet Fundamentals report. Still complaining bout SPM's 360 words? Sap sap sui lu.. =P

"You dare not do my assignments?"

Rubik's cube, a programmer's game?

.

The class's top programmers apparently loves solving the Rubik's cube. Both Andrew and Wee Jay could spend the whole day in class solving it again and again. If they're not busy with assignments, then a Rubik's cube would be in their hands most of the time.

I think I need to start having this hobby too. ==

I still want a hug.

Sleepy..

..and I need a hug. =/

Third buka puasa treat this month

.

FOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOODS =DD

This month itself I've had 3 buka puasa treats.. The foods are actually more or less the same, but they taste great nevertheless! Though sometimes the foods are tasteless, it's something we look forward to almost everyday during the fasting month.

Feast your eyes!! ;D

Before we unwrap the foods

At DS class, again

I'm blogging secretly from Database Systems class, again! =P

I'm done with the current work anyway. Secret or not, doesn't matter lah. The slow pace she's going is making most of us sleepy (especially during her lectures), but at least I could make sure I know what I'm doing.

Anyway! Me and my classmates went to the Ramadhan Bazaar in the nearby housing area to buy our buka puasa treat yseterday. Buka puasa foods sold are always smell so good and are so mouth-watering, but something when you bought them home you might be disappointed with the taste and texture.

Chicken butts remind me of Crystal. =P

*ahem*

Roti jalar, ayam goreng berempah, satay, kuih piring, sago, mi goreng, nasi briyani.. Foods that are truly Malaysian!

Now that the foods are gone, my patriotism mode is off. =]

Yesterday's 09-09-09.. did anything special? ^^

Inspiron 14, inspiring inspiration

.

I've finally got my lappie!! I guess it could be considered as a birthday gift from my dad, though the occasion didn't seem like it. Anyways, thanks for buying me one dad!I know you won't be reading this, but here, I said it. XD

It's Dell's Inspiron 14. I was initially planning to buy the Inspiron 13 after recommendations from both my sis' bfs, but I found out that the latter does not have a CD drive (in other words, can't play any CDs inside).

Not exactly a big deal, but later on I found out (thought my sis' bf again) that Inspiron 14's also selling at a reasonable price. The graphic card inside this lappie is integrated with the processor and not a stand-alone one. Not much of a prob too me since I won't be playing much games.. And the screen's bigger by an inch too. So why not? =)

Anyways, here are the pics!

The free stuffs I got

When I first turned it on

Look, it's white!

Can't connect to the local wireless network so gotta use cables to go online..

When the lights are off..

Directing legend

.

Yasmin Ahmad, the director behind Sepet, Gubra, Talentime and few other Malaysian movies, plus scenes of various commercial ads that evoke emotions from the public, has passed away last night (25 July 2009).

Sad to say, I don't watch any of her movies. Yet. =/

Just like other icons, though they're gone, their legacy is left behind. Her movies will remain eye-opening, her name will remain legendary among Malaysian directors. Rest in peace ya =/

"Heyy" vs. "Hi"

.

This idea popped up in my head suddenly.

What is your reply when people pop up a chat message with you online? It doesn't matter which instant messaging softwares you use (MSN, Yahoo!, Skype, Google Talk, ICQ, IRC etc.), even in games when you play with other people. Just what would your written reply be (the same if you were to start up a chat with someone)?

A formal "Hello"?
An intimate "Harlow"?

A casual "Hey"?

A friendly "Heyya"?

A hippy "Yo"?
Or just a simplistic "Hi"?

My personal reply depends on my mood. However, though, I use "Heyy" most of the time. So I felt like contrasting the use of "Heyy" and "Hi", in my opinion at least. =)

If I were to go back in time, my reply varies according to my circle of influence. Of course, I'm quite sure I used to "Hi" when I first ventured into the cyberworld. As I met more people online, the way I talk (or in this case, type) changed gradually. Right now, I usually go "Heyy". For a good reason.

I find it less appealing to use "Hi" cuz, well, it sounded very dull as compared to the other forms of greetings (unless of course, I'm in a very dull mood at the moment). Imagine someone coming up to you with a friendly "Yo!" and you reply with a dull "Hi". In other words..

I'M A VERY FRIENDLY FELLA n I LOVE TO TALK =)) [<3 mua babeh muaxx] says:
Yo!
im bored says:
Hi

See the difference? An expressive statement countered by a dull one. Not that I'm condemning the use of a simple "Hi", but I felt that an overuse of it make the person seem not so bersemangat (not enthusiastic). After all, the way you type out your words determines how you're 'speaking' in the virtual world. As an example:

Hi
can be modified into:

Hiii
Hi!
Hi =D

Hi..

Notice the great impact it'll give your words just by adding a few dots or an emoticon to it, or even extending it by a few characters? Imagine how it could affect the whole sentence.

Hi can you help me do a survey?
and also

Hiii can you help me do a survey?
Hi!
can you help me do a survey?

Hi =D
can you help me do a survey?

Hi..
can you help me do a survey?

Which of the ones mentioned above you think sounds the most enthusiatic?

I still prefer my "Heyy". I guess I could consider it a tribute to my onee-chan, Arigatou Aishite (her net name), who actually influenced me enough to use it. Though she might not know I still remember her.. I don't know.

I miss you ne. =)

Bon Odori, a sort-of reminiscence of the past

.

Ever heard of Bon Odori? It is basically a Japanese festival and it is held annually at Shah Alam, Selangor and in Penang. For more info, click HERE. =)

This is my first time attending the festival since I heard bout it when I was in Form 2. So yea, less talk, more pics please =)

View from the side

See the tiny little balloon in the sky?

These two poor Japanese kids has all the attention there =]

While I'm happy to be there, Bon Odori reminded me of the past.

I miss you, and you.. *sigh*

I just came back from Bon Odori earlier.. But guess I'll upload pics of yesterday's Revolution event first. =]

What can I say? SEGi college Kota Damansara (and of course SEGi SJ too, thanks mel =)) hosted the rEVOLution event at, well, SEGi College Kota Damansara yesterday.

As usual, there were refreshments and worship. Pastor Kenneth preached a powerful message! For more info, click HERE for Fee Vien's blogs bout it. ;)
